Hello. I’m Gabi, “your” Trauma-Informed Personal Trainer.

Thank you for being curious about what Trauma-Informed means when it comes to fitness.

Trauma leaves an imprint on the body and nervous system. It makes us feel unsafe. It can catch us in the gym or outside in the big world, in any situation.

I specialize in helping active women, who used to enjoy exercising but trauma changed the narrative. It could be a damaging experience with a personal trainer, getting injured by overtraining, or losing muscle activation and sensory skills.

Working with Gabi has been one of the most physically healing experiences when it comes to building a healthy relationship with myself. After years of disordered relationship with working out she has shown me the way to reconnect with my body’s needs and listen to my own signals to that I am able to work with  my body in a safe manner and honour not only its physical need but emotional too (i.e. knowing when to slow it down, or rest). She’s brought understanding as to why I’ve experienced some pain and instability and provided me with the appropriate exercise to improve this immensely. Also not to mention, the incredible difference she’s made when helping get rid of physical blockages to increase range of motion to certain exercises.

Her naturally calming and caring nature instantly puts you at ease and each session provides a safe space as she will always have you lead the way in determining what works and what doesn’t.

She did a fantastic job of setting me up with an individualized program which took into account my pregnancy and fitness level. When I signed up for TIPT with Gabi I have to admit I didn’t really know what I was signing up for. Having known and trained with Gabi previously in a different setting, I trusted Gabi to give me a kick start with my fitness; but I received so much more.  This is truly “personal” training. Gabi really listens and provides feedback and suggestions that are specific for you and your situation.

Gabi’s TIPT introduced me to a different way that I could approach my fitness.  I didn’t have to go hard with an “all or nothing” approach; Gabi taught me to adopt a mindset of “always something” with subtle forms of movement.  I dialed down my masculine and dialed up my feminine, which was really hard for me as I had the mindset that feminine was weak…that was far from it.  Gabi taught me to slow down and listen to my body. In slowing down and tuning in to my body I am able to work out daily, it was and still is so easy.  I now move my body on a daily basis with the mantra of “always something”.  Gabi has given me a multitude of exercises that I can choose from depending on what my body feels like that day.  I have experienced great results with what seems like very little effort.

I’ve been an avid gym goer for the past 20 years, and I met Gabi during a seminar at her personal training studio. I’ve always felt that I had a strong grasp on exercise and weight lifting, but eventually, I hit a plateau and in my attempt to breach it, I began stressing my lower back. I decided to start training with Gabi after someone recommended her, and although I was hesitant at first, being a 195lb man I wasn’t sure she would be able to help me, it turns out I couldn’t have been more wrong. Not only did Gabi help identify where my imbalances were, she helped me through a very difficult time in my life, as I had just been laid off from my job, and was slowly slipping into depression. Thanks to her, I found new ways to achieve my fitness goals, and reached a higher level of acceptance and happiness. Thanks Gabi!

I have been training with Gabi both in person and over FaceTime (a necessity of my living so far away) for over 6 months now. All I can say is OUTSTANDING. Everything is Outstanding, simply put. Gabi’s training style and method – OUTSTANDING, Gabi’s attention to detail and session planning – OUTSTANDING, Gabi’s attention to her clients body and needs (even while training someone via FaceTime!) – OUTSTANDING, finally my RESULTS – OUTSTANDING. I think you get the point. She’s ummm… GREAT! (also… OUTSTANDING!) Your health is well worth investing in and Gabi is a fantastic avenue for such an investment. My RESULTS speak for themselves, I have her both strength train me and mobility train me, I am looser, more flexible and just generally feel better. As far as strength goes, my legs are bigger, my glutes are bigger and my upper body is biggest, everything bigger and stronger. All via workouts I never would do myself and never would have found no matter how much time is spent on fitness YouTube channels. She just has a vast knowledge of working out and the body, do yourself a really worthy favour and invest in that knowledge. You will have RESULTS you are happy about.
